This simple and quick 2 Ingredient Dough Naan Bread recipe uses no yeast, making it a perfect homemade naan for any meal. Made with just self-rising flour and Greek yogurt, these soft and fluffy naan breads cook quickly on the stovetop and can be optionally brushed with butter for extra flavor.

- 1 3/4 cups self-rising flour (use gluten-free if needed)
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (vegan Greek yogurt, non-fat, full-fat or reduced fat)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter of choice (optional, for brushing)
Instructions
- Prepare the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, salt (if using), and Greek yogurt. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated and a dough ball forms. Use your hands to knead and shape the dough into a large ball.
- Divide and shape: Lightly flour a wooden or kitchen surface, and sprinkle some flour on top of the dough ball. Transfer the dough to the floured surface and flatten it into a circular shape. Cut the dough into 8 even portions. Flatten each portion into a rectangular shape resembling classic naan bread.
- Cook the naan: Heat a non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Once hot, place one flattened dough piece in the pan and cook for 3 minutes. Flip the naan and cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until cooked through and slightly golden. Repeat the process for all naan pieces.
- Optional finishing touch: When all naan breads are cooked, lightly brush the tops with melted butter if desired, enhancing flavor and softness.
Notes
- Self-rising flour already contains baking powder and salt, so adjust salt quantity accordingly.
- If you need gluten-free naan, use a gluten-free self-rising flour blend.
- For a vegan version, use vegan Greek yogurt and a plant-based butter alternative for brushing.
- Ensure the pan is well-heated before cooking to achieve a nice texture and prevent sticking.
