Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 5 minutes. Optionally, spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Season the Chicken: Place the chicken thighs into a large zip-top bag or bowl with a lid. Add kosher salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, oregano, and onion powder. Seal and shake or mix well to evenly coat the chicken.
- Initial Air Frying: Arrange the seasoned chicken thighs skin side down in the preheated air fryer basket. Cook for 12 minutes to start rendering the fat and crisping the skin.
- Flip and Continue Cooking: Turn the chicken thighs so the skin side is facing up. Continue cooking for an additional 10 to 15 minutes. For extra crispy skin, cook in 4-minute increments until desired crispness is achieved.
- Check for Doneness and Serve: The chicken is ready when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) at the thickest part of the thigh using a meat thermometer. Remove from air fryer and serve immediately.
