- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
For the Empanadas:
- 1 package (14 oz) refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Sauté Onion: In a skillet, sauté chopped onion in olive oil until softened.
- Add Flavors: Add garlic, ground beef, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is browned.
- Melt Cheese: Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
- Prepare Crusts: Roll out pie crusts and cut into circles.
- Fill Dough: Spoon beef mixture onto dough circles.
- Seal Empanadas: Fold dough over filling, press edges with a fork to seal.
- Brush with Egg: Brush empanadas with beaten egg.
- Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
