Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Wrap Fillings
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup diced pickles
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup Thousand Island or burger sauce
Wraps
- 4 large flour tortillas
Instructions
- Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet set over medium heat, add the ground beef along with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook, stirring and breaking up the meat with a spatula until the beef is fully browned and cooked through. Drain off any excess grease to prevent sogginess.
- Warm the Tortillas: Gently warm the flour tortillas in a clean skillet or microwave to make them more pliable and easier to fold without tearing.
- Assemble the Wraps: Lay each warmed tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon an even amount of the cooked ground beef into the center of each tortilla. Top the beef with shredded cheddar cheese, diced pickles, shredded lettuce, diced onion, and a generous drizzle of Thousand Island or burger sauce.
- Roll the Wraps: Fold the sides of each tortilla toward the center, then roll tightly from one end to the other to form a wrap.
- Optional Sear for Crispness: For added texture and flavor, place each assembled wrap seam-side down in a hot skillet. Sear for 1–2 minutes on each side until the tortilla is golden brown and crisp.
- Serve: Slice each wrap in half diagonally and serve immediately for the best taste and freshness.
Notes
- Use freshly shredded cheddar for better melting and flavor.
- To keep wraps warm before serving, wrap in foil and place in a low oven (200°F) for up to 15 minutes.
- Feel free to substitute the Thousand Island sauce with your favorite burger sauce or a homemade version.
- For a lower-carb option, use low-carb or whole wheat tortillas.
- Leftover filling can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days but assemble wraps fresh to avoid sogginess.
