Brownie S’mores Dessert Trifle Recipe

  • Author: lina
  • Total Time: 4 hours 50 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

This Brownie S’mores Dessert Trifle combines the rich indulgence of chocolate brownies with layers of creamy chocolate pudding, crunchy graham crackers, marshmallow whipped topping, and toasted mini marshmallows for a decadent no-bake treat that’s perfect for gatherings or a special dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base

  • 1 box brownie mix (or your favorite from scratch recipe)

Chocolate Pudding Layer

  • 2 small boxes instant chocolate pudding (approx. 4 cups prepared)

Graham Cracker Layer

  • 1 sleeve graham crackers (broken into small pieces)

Whipped Topping and Marshmallow Layer

  • 1 tub whipped topping (about 8 ounces)
  • 1 small jar marshmallow creme (about 7 ounces)

Topping and Garnish

  • 1 cup mini-marshmallows
  • 1 bar Hershey’s chocolate (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Brownies: Bake a 9×13 inch pan of brownies according to package directions or your favorite recipe. Once baked, allow to cool completely, then cut into chunks. Exact sizing is not necessary.
  2. Prepare Pudding and Graham Crackers: While brownies bake and cool, prepare instant chocolate pudding according to package instructions to make about 4 cups. Break graham crackers into small pieces, avoiding crushing them into fine crumbs.
  3. First Layer Assembly: In a trifle dish, place a layer of brownie chunks covering just under half the pan. Spread half of the prepared chocolate pudding over the brownies, then sprinkle a layer of broken graham crackers on top, ensuring the pudding layer is well covered.
  4. Whipped Topping Mixture: In a bowl, mix half of the whipped topping with half of the marshmallow creme. The mixture may be a bit lumpy, which is fine. Spread this mixture evenly over the graham cracker layer.
  5. Repeat Layers: Repeat the brownie, pudding, graham cracker, and whipped topping-marshmallow layers once more, ending with the marshmallow whipped topping mixture on top.
  6. Toast Mini Marshmallows: Place the mini marshmallows under a broiler for just a few seconds until golden brown. Watch carefully as this happens quickly. Allow them to cool slightly.
  7. Garnish Trifle: Sprinkle the toasted mini marshmallows evenly over the final whipped topping layer. Add crushed graham crackers and chopped Hershey’s chocolate on top for extra texture and flavor.
  8. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the assembled trifle for several hours to let flavors meld and layers set. Serve cold and enjoy this decadent dessert.

Notes

  • Use high-quality brownie mix or homemade brownies for best flavor.
  • To speed preparation, use pre-made chocolate pudding or opt for instant pudding mix.
  • Be careful when broiling marshmallows as they toast very quickly and can burn.
  • This dessert can be prepared a day ahead to allow better melding of flavors.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free brownies and graham crackers.
