French Dip Tortilla Roll Ups Recipe

  • Author: lina
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

French Dip Tortilla Roll Ups are a delicious twist on the classic French dip sandwich, featuring thinly sliced roast beef and melted mozzarella or provolone cheese wrapped in flour tortillas, baked until golden and served with a rich, flavorful au jus dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

Roll Ups

  • 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef (deli style or leftover)
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Au Jus

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Assemble roll ups: Lay each flour tortilla flat and evenly layer the thinly sliced roast beef and shredded cheese down the center of each tortilla.
  3. Roll tortillas: Roll the tortillas tightly from the center towards the edge, then place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet to keep them closed while baking.
  4. Season and butter: Brush the tops of the roll ups with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley to add flavor and help achieve a golden crust.
  5. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the tortillas turn golden brown and the cheese inside has melted.
  6. Prepare au jus: While the roll ups bake, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Simmer gently for 5 to 7 minutes to develop a rich dipping sauce.
  7. Serve: Remove the roll ups from the oven, slice them into manageable pieces if desired, and serve warm with the hot au jus on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For a crispy exterior, brush the roll ups thoroughly with butter before baking.
  • The au jus can be adjusted with additional seasoning to taste.
  • Leftover cooked roast beef works great as a time-saving option.
  • Use either mozzarella or provolone cheese based on your preference for mild or slightly sharper flavors.
  • These roll ups make a great appetizer or a hearty snack.
