Ingredients
Scale
Steak
- 2 pounds sirloin steak
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
Garlic Butter Sauce
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the steak: Chop the sirloin steak into cubes about 2 inches in size. Toss the steak cubes evenly in salt and cracked black pepper to season thoroughly.
- Heat the pan: Place olive oil in a large frying pan and heat it over high heat until shimmering and hot for searing the steak.
- Cook the steak bites: Add a single layer of steak cubes to the hot frying pan—avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking. Fry the steak bites in batches for about 4 to 5 minutes each, stirring occasionally, until cooked through and nicely seared. Transfer each cooked batch to a serving dish.
- Make the garlic butter sauce: Using the same frying pan, reduce heat to medium-high. Add unsalted butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Cook for no more than 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted and garlic is slightly browned but not burnt.
- Toss and garnish: Pour the garlic butter sauce over the cooked steak bites and toss gently to coat all pieces evenly. Finish by sprinkling fresh chopped parsley on top for a bright, fresh garnish.
Notes
- Be sure not to overcrowd the pan when cooking steak bites to achieve a good sear and avoid steaming.
- Use fresh garlic for the best flavor; minced or pressed to release the aroma.
- You can adjust Italian seasoning according to personal taste or substitute with fresh thyme or rosemary.
- Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
- Sirloin steak is recommended, but other tender cuts like ribeye or filet mignon can be used.
