Ingredients
Scale
Fruit Mixture:
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen peaches, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 cup apple juice or water
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2–3 tbsp honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
Gelatin Mixture:
- 3 tbsp unflavored gelatin
Optional:
- Natural food coloring (orange or red) for brightness
Instructions
- Blend the Ingredients: In a blender, combine the peaches, apple juice, lemon juice, and honey. Blend the mixture until it is completely smooth and uniform in texture.
- Heat the Mixture: Pour the peach mixture into a saucepan and heat it over medium-low heat to prepare for gelatin incorporation.
- Dissolve the Gelatin: Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin evenly over the warm peach mixture. Stir constantly for about 3–5 minutes until the gelatin is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth without lumps.
- Add Optional Coloring: If desired, add a few drops of natural orange or red food coloring to enhance the peachy color and give the rings a vibrant appearance. Stir gently to combine.
- Mold the Mixture: Pour the gelatin-peach mixture into silicone donut or ring molds, filling each cavity evenly.
- Chill to Set: Refrigerate the filled molds for 2–3 hours or until the peach rings are firm and fully set to the touch.
- Unmold and Store: Carefully remove the peach rings from the molds. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator, where they will keep fresh for up to one week.
Notes
- Use fresh peaches for the best flavor, but frozen peaches work well when out of season; thaw before use.
- Adjust the sweetness with honey or maple syrup depending on the peach ripeness and your taste preference.
- Use silicone molds for easy removal; alternatively, lightly grease molds if using metal or other types.
- Natural food coloring is optional but enhances the visual appeal of the peach rings.
- Store peach rings in a refrigerator to maintain firmness and freshness.
- These peach rings are gluten-free and can be made vegan by substituting gelatin with agar-agar (note: setting properties and texture may vary).
