Scale

Sauce Ingredients

  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, combine the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, and minced garlic. Place over medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally to help dissolve the sugar and meld the flavors.
  2. Mix Cornstarch Slurry: In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water until smooth. Whisk this slurry into the saucepan mixture while stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  3. Thicken Sauce: Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes or until the sauce reaches your desired thickness, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Notes

  • For a stronger garlic flavor, you can sauté the garlic briefly before combining with other ingredients.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, thin it by adding a little more water.
  • This sauce is great as a glaze for grilled meats or as a dipping sauce for appetizers.
  • Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
