Scale
Sauce Ingredients
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ¼ cup water
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, combine the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, and minced garlic. Place over medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally to help dissolve the sugar and meld the flavors.
- Mix Cornstarch Slurry: In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water until smooth. Whisk this slurry into the saucepan mixture while stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
- Thicken Sauce: Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes or until the sauce reaches your desired thickness, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Notes
- For a stronger garlic flavor, you can sauté the garlic briefly before combining with other ingredients.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, thin it by adding a little more water.
- This sauce is great as a glaze for grilled meats or as a dipping sauce for appetizers.
- Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
