Main Ingredients
- 1 cup roasted chopped Hatch green chile (mild, medium, or hot)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Jack, or a mix)
- 1 cup Bisquick mix
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
Seasonings
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Optional
- Cooked bacon, ham, or sausage (amount based on preference)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie pan or quiche dish to prevent sticking.
- Layer Cheese: Spread the shredded cheese evenly across the bottom of the prepared pie pan. This will create a flavorful base for the quiche.
- Add Green Chile and Meat: Evenly distribute the chopped roasted Hatch green chile over the cheese layer. If using, add cooked bacon, ham, or sausage on top of the chiles.
- Mix Egg Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix, eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Combine and Pour: Pour the egg and Bisquick mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the pie pan, ensuring all areas are covered.
- Bake: Place the pie pan in the preheated oven and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Bake until the top is golden brown and the center is fully set—test with a knife or toothpick to ensure it comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Slice and serve warm for best flavor and texture.
