Ingredients
Scale
Pastry
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 thin slices of butter
Milk Mixture
- 5 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 5 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Toppings
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- 1 tablespoon walnuts
- 1 tablespoon almonds
- 1 tablespoon pistachios
- 2 tablespoons shredded coconut
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) to prepare for baking the pastry.
- Bake Puff Pastry: Place the puff pastry sheet on a baking tray and bake for 5-8 minutes on each side until it turns golden brown and crispy.
- Cool and Break Pastry: Let the baked pastry cool for 15 minutes, then break it into medium-sized pieces and arrange them in an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the raisins, walnuts, almonds, pistachios, and shredded coconut evenly over the pastry pieces.
- Prepare Milk Mixture: In a saucepan, combine the milk, heavy cream, white sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat over high heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Assemble: Pour the hot milk mixture evenly over the pastry and nuts in the dish. Arrange the butter slices on top to add richness.
- Soak: Allow the pastry to soak and absorb the milk mixture for 30 to 40 minutes at room temperature before baking again.
- Bake Final Dish: Bake the assembled dessert in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the top is beautifully golden and set.
