These Parmesan Roasted Green Beans are a simple yet flavorful side dish that pairs perfectly with any main course. Crisp green beans are coated in garlic, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese, then roasted to perfection for a delicious crunch in every bite.

Green Beans:

  • 500 g / 1 lb green beans, ends trimmed

Seasoning:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil, separated
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Topping:

  • 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 220C/425F or set the broiler/grill to high, positioning the shelf about 30cm/12″ from the heat source.
  2. Prepare the Green Beans: Place the green beans on a tray. Drizzle with 1 tbsp of oil, add garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.
  3. Arrange on Tray: Arrange the beans in rows on the tray, ensuring they are close together.
  4. Add Toppings: Sprinkle the beans with breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. Drizzle with the remaining oil.
  5. Roast: Roast in the oven for 15 minutes or broil/grill for 8 minutes until the Parmesan is golden.
  6. Serve: Transfer the roasted green beans to a serving platter using a spatula or egg flipper. Serve immediately.
